With a PC computer running the Windows Vista operating system, you can install the AOL 9.0 desktop software application and log in to your AOL account. The AOL application allows users to access their email, buddy list and favorite bookmarks in a central location, and it also includes a fully functional web browser.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the AOL download website (see Resources) and click on the "Download Now" button underneath the "All-In-One Software" section.

  2. Step 2

Choose "Run" once the installation program finishes downloading to your hard drive. That installation program will now launch.

  3. Step 3

Agree to the AOL terms of service.

  4. Step 4

Select the "Express Install" options and click "Next."

  5. Step 5

Click on the "Current Members" button.

  6. Step 6

Choose the "Adding your existing AOL account to this computer" option and then click "Next." The installation process will begin and should take about 10 minutes to complete.
