Sagging Cabinet Doors
Sagging Cabinet Doors

Do you have cabinet doors that are sagging and do not close correctly? If you do this is usually caused from screws holding the hinges are loose and will not tighten. The screws will not tighten because the hole the screw threads into has become to large to secure the screw threads.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A golf tee,wood glue,hammer and a razor knife
  1. Step 1

Remove the screw and hinge or hardware. Make sure you note the order in which the hardware was assembled so you can put it back together correctly.

  2. Step 2

Fill hole with wood glue and tap the tapered end of the golf tee into the hole until it will not go any furtherer. Allow to dry for two hours or follow the drying instructions on the glue bottle for length of dry time.

  3. Step 3

Cut off remainder of golf tee flush with surface of existing wood. Attach hardware and screws. Now the screws have wood backing to secure the threads and you will not have a problem with loose screws and sagging cabinet doors.
