How to Buy Cheap Contacts
An alternative to glasses, contacts can be pricey, particularly those needed for astigmatism or those tinted to change the wearer's eye color. Instead of just taking whichever contacts your eye doctor recommends, ask questions to discover which brands cost the least, or ask to take your prescription with you to get it filled elsewhere at better prices. By doing your homework beforehand, you can find the best contact deals at the cheapest prices.

1
Ask your eye doctor how much contact lenses cost through his or her office, and which are the cheapest. Your doctor will be able to sell you any brand that he or she carries. Choose the contacts that cost the least but offer the best value.
-
2
Go online to search for websites that sell contacts. Sites that have good customer service, such as 1800contacts.com and shipmycontacts.com, will keep you from having to deal with unsavory companies that may not fulfill your order correctly, costing you time and money.
-
-
3
Compare prices. The same brand and number of contacts can be cheaper on one website than on another. Make a list of prices and go with the cheapest.
-
4
Ask your optometrist which brands are offering rebates. If brand isn't important to you, consider another manufacturer that is offering money back on the contacts purchase. Then make sure you buy the correct amount of boxes needed to qualify for the rebate.
-
5
Look for online offers with free shipping or other discounts. While rebates are through the manufacturer, websites selling contacts sometimes have additional offers for free shipping to your home or an extra discount off your total order price.
-
6
Avoid color contact lenses. Stick with contacts that are not tinted to change the color of your eyes, since they tend to be cheaper than the colorized ones.
