Step 1
Create a Kiko on Kiko Day, July 26. Pet days are special days dedicated to each species of pet in neopia. Every species of neopet has its own day. On the limited edition pet days, a player can create a limited edition pet from the "Create a neopet" link located on the neopets navigational toolbar, at the top of the website. This is the only day a particular limited edition pet can be made.

Step 2
Use a mysterious swirly potion on your pet and hope for the best. A mysterious swirly potion is a potion that, if given to your pet, will change your pet's species to a random limited-edition species. You can purchase a mysterious swirly potion from the trading post in Mystery Island. Click "Explore" on the navigational toolbar to bring up the map, then click on Mystery Island on the right.

Use a Kiko Morphing Potion. These potions can be purchased at the trading post, but they can also be purchased occasionally at Kauvara's Magic Shop in Neopia Central if the shop has them in stock. Click "shops" on the navigational toolbar and then click "magic shop." A Kiko Transmogrification Potion works the same way. After you purchase the potion, simply give it to your neopet and watch your pet transform.

Step 4
Give your neopet a magical blue, red, green or yellow Kiko plushie to play with. These plushies can be purchased at the trading post in Mystery Island or at Kauvara's Magic Shop in Neopia Central. When your neopet plays with one of these magical plushies, it will turn into whatever species the plushie is and the color.

Step 5
Adopt a Kiko from the pound. To visit the Neopian Pound, click "pet central" on the navigational toolbar at the top of the page, then click "Neopian Pound" on the right. To adopt a pet, simply click on it and then click the "adopt" button. Sometimes you will find a Kiko in the pound.
