Step 1
Make sure that your baby gets enough fluoride. Fluoride helps protect teeth from decay. It should be in your drinking water but if your not sure of that then you can take a sample to your Doctor or ask them what to do with it. If you do not have fluoride in your water then tell your Doctor and they can help you by giving you fluoride drops. Don't give your baby to much fluoride because it can be bad for them.

Step 2
Clean your baby's teeth as soon as you see them coming in. You can use a baby's toothbrush or even a washcloth. You can use baby toothpaste with no fluoride in it or just a wet cloth. Make sure you clean their teeth right before bed so that the milk will not stay on and rotten their teeth. About 2 years old is when all their teeth should be in and then you should be able to use fluoride toothpaste. But just a small drop.

Step 3
Give your child more fruits and veggie's, healthy foods. Not a lot of cookies and foods that have a lot of sugar. When putting your baby down for a nap or for bedtime if you give them a bottle or sippy cup make sure you give them only water not milk/formula, juices or anything else that has sugar in it. It may cause tooth decay.

Step 4
By the time your baby turns a year old you might want to stop giving them a pacifier and a bottle and give them a cup. You also might want to take them to see their dentist for the first time around then so that the dentist can take a look and check their new teeth.
