Preventing constipation is the most effective way of treating constipation, however, if you are already constipated, you can treat the constipation naturally at home.

Sometimes constipation needs to be evaluated by your family doctor. Here are some remedies that you can try on your own to ease the pain of constipation.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water

  • Prunes
  • Prune juice
  • Warm liquids
  • Stool softener/laxative
  1. Step 1

Drink 3-4 extra glasses of water a day, while constipated.(do not do this if your fluid intake is limited)

  2. Step 2

Eat added fruits and vegetables in your diet while constipated. Also eating cereals and breads that are high in fiber will help in the treatment of constipation.
