First thing is first you need to pick one with your BUDGET. Even if this means going online and waiting for it to ship the same camcorder you saw at Best buy for a lower price. Saving money helps you a lot. Maybe with those extra 20 bucks you saved you can buy an accessory for your new camcorder. Make sure you don't buy one too expensive especially if this is your first camcorder and you don't know if you really like filming.

Find a Camcorder that you think you would really enjoy. Don't buy one that looks like it will die out in a few years like a Flip Camcorder is a example of one that would die out in a few years. Buy one that has good quality and looks like it be fun for the next couple of years. Read reviews on camcorders so you don't buy one that looks like its a pixel on the whole screen. If you plan on not uploading any videos it won't really matter about the quality since it will be on the Camcorder Screen.

Finally once your done with your price comparing and camcorder picking. Go online or go out to a store(which ever has better prices) buy your camcorder. Then go out test it out and if you don't like it take it back. (hopefully you bought a warranty if you do like it).
