Cook easy and tasty fried squash in minutes!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Wash the squash separately under warm water, using your hands to rub away any debris

  2. Step 2

Slice the ends of the squash off and throw away

  3. Step 3

Slice the squash about 1/2 inch an apart

  4. Step 4

In a small bowl pour 2 cups of milk, then place 2 cups of flour onto a plate and place between the cut squash and the stove. In a frying pan, pour about 1/2 an inch of vegetable oil and turn the burner on medium high heat; after about 2 minutes the oil should be heated.

  5. Step 5

Using tongs (preferrably), pick up a slice of squash and dip in the milk, then transfer to the flour and coat each side before setting gently into the frying pan. Continue this process so there is a complete layer of squash in the frying pan without overlapping.

  6. Step 6

In about two minutes use your tongs to flip the squash over. The squash should be a golden brown.

  7. Step 7

In about another two minutes the squash should be finished and golden brown on both sides. Using your tongs, transfer the finished squash onto a plate with paper towels (to soak up excess oil).

  8. Step 8

Repeat steps 5-8 until you have fried all of your squash. Eat and enjoy! In picture, fried yellow squash is paired with grilled buffalo chicken (look for this eHow article/recipe by MsCassie)
