Do you love fried chicken but don’t love the mess? Learn how to oven fry chicken for that southern down home taste and the comfort of fried chicken that’s easy to make.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups baking mix like Bisquick
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • Chicken pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  1. Step 1
    Wash the chicken pieces in cold water

    Wash the chicken pieces in cold water, don’t pat dry, set aside. Pre heat the oven to 400 degrees. Spread 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into shallow pan such as a cookie sheet with ¼ inch edges or more for depth.

    Pour about 2 cups of baking mix into a shallow dish. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, poultry seasoning and paprika. Mix well.

    Lay each piece of chicken into the oiled pan. If you are making a lot of chicken you might need two oiled pans. Place into hot oven.

    Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, then take out the chicken and turn all the pieces over. Place back into the oven for another 20 to 25 minutes to get the other side brown.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use this same recipe for boneless chicken breasts or tenders. You can cut the tenders in pieces and make chicken nuggets.
