Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a shoe stretcher to stretch out your leather shoes. They are available at most shoe stores and are capable of stretching leather shoes without damaging the material.

    • 2

If you don't want to purchase a shoe stretcher, wet your leather shoes in order to stretch them. Use a spray bottle to dampen the inside and outside of your leather shoes. Put on a pair of socks and put the shoes on. Allow them to dry naturally. The shoes will stretch to the size of your feet.

    • 3

If the water does not work, mix a solution of rubbing alcohol and water. The solution should be one part rubbing alcohol to three parts water. Pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray the inside and outside of your shoes to dampen them. Put on socks and the leather shoes. Wear them until they are dry.

Put plastic bags into your shoes, and fill the bags with water. Place the shoes into the freezer. Leave the shoes in the freezer long enough for the water to freeze. When the water freezes, it will expand and stretch your shoes.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not want to try these methods, wearing your shoes until they stretch is a solution. Although it takes time, the leather will naturally stretch with each wear until it is comfortable.

  • Do not spray water on suede or leather that is not water-sealed. It will damage the material of the shoe. The plastic bag and water method should also not be done on suede or non-waterproof leather.
