Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Pet Rat
  1. Step 1

Gently put your hold around your rat's waist. Get a good grip but don't grip to tightly, the rat is much smaller in proportion to you so your grip feels tighter to a small creature.

  2. Step 2

With your other hand near pick the rat up enough off the ground to put on top of your other hand.

  3. Step 3

Slowly bring the rat closer to you, one hand under the rats supporting all four of it's little feet and one hand over the rat's back. Almost like you are cupping the rat with your hands.

  4. Step 4

As the rats gets more comfortable you can move your top hand and let the rat climb around on you, even sit on your shoulder.

  5. Step 5

A lot of people pick up a rat by it's tail but it's not always the nicest thing., Doing this is like picking a ca up by it's scruff, it's uncomfortable but does not hurt the animal. Doing this especially if the rat gets away is a good thing.
