A quick and easy way to make homemade beef jerky using a corned beef brisket

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Corned beef brisket
  • Sharp knife
  • Metal skewers
  1. Step 1

After removing the meat from the package and discarding the liquid, cut the meat into strips about 1/4 inch thick and 1 inch wide and as long as possible. While doing this, trim as much fat away as possible

  2. Step 2

With a paper towel, pat dry as much excessive moisture as is possible from the meat in order to make the meat reasonably dry without using too much time in the oven.

  3. Step 3

Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees Farenheit. While oven is pre-heating, thread corned beef onto skewers about 1 inch apart.

  4. Step 4

Place skewers onto the top rack of the oven with the meat hanging down. Use a roasting pan to catch the drips. Re-arrange the meat so that it falls through each space in the rack and that each piece of meat has it's own space.

  5. Step 5

Cook at 200 degrees for at least 1 hour and 15 minutes. But it can be longer according to your taste.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try not to overcook the jerky. It should not be as dry as store bought jerky.
