Divide players into two teams. Stick a ski pole or PVC pipe 3 inches into the ground. Swivel the stick back and forth until it stands stable (use a post hole digger if you need to). Put another stick between 20 and 30 feet directly across from it. Place an empty beer can or bottle on top of each pole. Line the teams up next to a pole.

Knock down a can or bottle on the opposing team's pole. Hold the Frisbee inward parallel to your waist. Bend your knees, extend your arm out swiftly and throw the Frisbee across the grass toward a bottle or can. Score three points for hitting the can or bottle with the Frisbee or two points for knocking it off by hitting the pole. Alternate throwing throwing the Frisbee from each team.

Catch the Frisbee and/or beer bottle if you are on the receiving team. Earn points only if you are on the throwing team. If the bottle is knocked off and the Frisbee is not caught, the throwing team receives three points. If the bottle is knocked off, but the Frisbee or the beer bottle is caught, the team only gets two points. Negate points from the opposing team by catching what you can. For example, if the receiving team catches the beer bottle and the Frisbee, the throwing team receives only one point.

Learn some additional rules. If the Frisbee is thrown to the lower half of the stick, even if the Frisbee and can are not caught, the throwing team only gets two points. This is called a low throw. If a member of the receiving team reaches in front of the pole to grab the Frisbee, for example, the throwing team will earn three points.

Reach or exceed 21 points and win the game.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have each team member hold a beer in one hand while throwing the Frisbee.

  • When competition is stiff, make the team win by two or more points.

  • Drinking and driving is against the law.

  • The Frisbee must be within 3 feet of the pole in order for it to be fair.

  • If the Frisbee does not reach the pole, the opposing team gets to throw from that spot.

  • Trapping the bottle or Frisbee with other body party gives the throwing team one point.
