You will learn basic safety operations of your chainsaw. This is a beginners guide. This article will help you on equipment you will need to operate a gas or electric chainsaw properly.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Chainsaw, safety equipment, and a little common sense ;)
  1. Step 1

The first this you will need is a good pair of safety glasses. Try them on at the store to make sure they are comfortable for you to where. You may want to get a clear or dark lens depending on your preference.

  2. Step 2

Next you will need a hard hat to protect you from flying debris. This can be an option, but recommended for a beginner.

  3. Step 3

A good pair of leather gloves to help you grip the saw with ease. You will also need these for picking up sharp branches that you just cut.

  4. Step 4

You will need proper clothing such as a long sleeve shirt and jeans. A good paid of comfortable work boots. I would make sure they are steel toe in case you drop the logs on your foot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Chainsaws can be dangerous, please read your owners manual. As a beginner you may want to get an electric saw. These are light weight and easy to use. Great for woman and small adults. They are low maintenance and very easy to store.
  • Again please read the safety manual that came with the model chainsaw you are using. If you don't have one you can get a copy online at the manufactures website.
