Step 1
First you need to be aware that are few different kinds of curly hair, one of the most common are curls that are sort of shaped like an s and easily curl back up when you stretch them out.
-
Step 2
Choosing the right hair cut is a very important part of curly hair care. Usually with curly hair you might want to stray away from shorter styles and stick with longer styles with more layers.
-
Step 3
You should never brush curly hair, this actually causes more damage and breakage. If you find yourself having lots of tangles, what you're going to want to do is get a good conditioner, a deep conditioner works best.
-
Step 4
Take a comb into the shower with you and condition your hair as usual, then while the conditioner is in comb your hair section by section. While this may be time consuming it's one of the best way to brush curly hair.
-
Step 5
When curly hair is wet, I found it is best to use a moisture absorbing towel in place of a regular bath towel to dry hair with as it cuts down on frizziness.
-
Step 6
After hair is towel dried, using a small amount of frizz serum and work in from root to tips. After you've got that worked in I've found that a few sprays and scrunching of wave serum actually helps tame my curls and cut back and frizziness.
-
Step 7
After you put products in let hair dry naturally, drying naturally will you get you the best results. Using a blow dryer is unwise unless you have a diffuser then it will cut back on damage.
-
Step 8
During the drying process try not disturb your hair too much, the less you mess with it and touch it the better your results will be.
