A Sufi is one whose heart is free from love of materialism, greed, lust, jealousy, pride, arrogance and all other evils and is filled with the Love of God, and strict adherence to the Divine Law and Prophetic Tradition.

Understand what a Sufi is: A Sufi is first and foremost A Muslim. He must accept and practise upon the 5 pillars of Islam.

A Sufi is a Muslim is one who focuses on getting closer to Allah above all else. To do this, one must be a strict follower of the Shariah and Sunnah and one must refrain from All Bidah.

One must take Bayah with a Qualified Sufi Shaikh Who is knowledgeable in Shariah and closely practising to the Sunnah and become his student.

Tips & Warnings
Watch out for psudo-sufis who claim to be sufi but follow nothing from Islam. A Sufi is one who remembers Allah often to clean their heart of evils and fill it with obediance to the shariah and sunnah so one may draw near to God. Anything that does not make one stronger in Shariah and Sunnah is astray.
