Here's an easy and delicious recipe for sausage balls that has become a tradition in our house. Using Bisquick, these sausage balls are moist and tasty!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 cups Bisquick
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 lb cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Large glass mixing bowl
  1. Step 1

In a large glass mixing bowl, add the Bisquick, then the sausage, cheese and water. Standard shredded cheese works best.

  2. Step 2

Using your hands, knead the mixture until thoroughly mixed. A large bowl helps keep the mess down. This will take a little time. The end result will be a consistent, moist mixture with no loose ingredients.

  3. Step 3

Put a small amount (about a rounded tablespoon full) into your palm. Roll the sausage mixture into 1" to 1-1/4" diameter balls. Experiment with size to reach your ideal serving size. Place on a cookie sheet lightly sprayed with cooking spray.

  4. Step 4

Bake at 300 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes (depending on size). Sausage should be brown and the cheese a little bubbly when done.

  5. Step 5

Serve immediately. Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the microwave.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can refrigerate the uncooked balls for cooking later. Roll the balls as in Step 3 and put them in a Tupperware container. Place wax paper between layers.
  • Make them the night before for an easy breakfast side. Add about 5 minutes to the cooking time since they'll be refrigerated.
  • Mix it up with Hot sausage or sharp cheese.
  • Enjoy!
