Repairing a cracked or leaking seam on your rain gutter, can save you money over replacement. It can be done relatively easily, Fixing those leaky seams and cracks is a short afternoon job, That anyone can do.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Use a wire brush to clean the inner surface around the crack or leaking joint. (make sure this is on the inside,so none of the patch is seen from the ground.)

  2. Step 2

Use coarse sandpaper to rough up and prep the area Around the crack or leak. ( I would use 100 grit or 80 grit sand paper)

  3. Step 3

Use a damp rag to clean up any remaining dust or dirt. (using solvent or mineral spirts instead of water will speed up dry time)

  4. Step 4

Use a putty Knife to apply a liberal coating of black roofing cement over the crack or leak. (a sunny dry day will help with the drying time of the cement)
