Hard-boiled eggs are deceptively simple. But with the wrong timing, your eggs could be ruined through under- or overcooking. Follow three easy steps, and you'll be able to make the perfect hard-boiled egg every time, from boiling to peeling. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

      Arrange the eggs carefully in the bottom of a pan. Prepare as few as one or as many as a dozen. Cover the eggs with 1 inch of cold water.

      Heat on the stove until water comes to a rolling boil. Cover the pot and remove from the heat. Let sit for 15 to 20 minutes.

      Drain the water and refill the pan with cold water, leaving the eggs in the pan. Let sit 15 to 20 minutes and then dump the water. The eggs are ready for peeling.

      Crack eggs on a hard surface such as the kitchen counter. After cracking the egg, gently roll it in your hands to loosen the shell. Starting at the end with the airspace (it will sink in when touched), remove the shell from your perfect hard-boiled egg.
