Make Gourmet Belgian Waffles

Want to make scrumptious, delicious- tasting waffles? Now you can! I have a simple recipe that anyone can use. It's fun and fast and great for kids. I hope you enjoy making these Belgian waffles as much as I do!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Waffle Iron
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 6 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh berries (optional)
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)
  1. Step 1

Place four, sugar, salt, and baking powder into large mixing bowl. Make sure bowl is big enough to fit everything. Stir for about 1 minute.

  2. Step 2

Add in all other ingredients to the mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

With an electric mixer, stir the ingredients together until batter is smooth, not lumpy or thick. Let the batter sit for 5 minutes after mixing is complete.

  4. Step 4

After batter has sat for 5 minutes, place 2 tablespoons of the batter into a waffle iron. It is recommended that the waffle bakes until it is golden- brown on both sides. (Settings may vary for different waffle makers)

  5. Step 5

Serve with fresh berries, powdered sugar, or pretty much any topping you choose. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Waffles are great a la mode!
  • Waffles are not only breakfast foods! They also can make great desserts and afternoon snacks!
  • For chocolate chip waffles, place semi-sweet chocolate chips into batter and mix before baking.
  • If you want to go with a healthier approach, substitute whole wheat flour for regular white flour
  • Make sure there is adult supervision if kids are using the waffle iron
