Google Analytics is a web analytics tool that lets you view website traffic and marketing effectiveness.

Step 1

There are things you can do with Google Analytics this article will ONLY show you how to get analytics installed onto your site. This is very basic.

First, you need to create a Google Analytic account. You can sign up free at:

www.google.com/analytics
Step 2

Enter your Websites URL (address) and enter a nickname for the account. Then select the continue button.
Step 3

Google will then ask for your contact information. Fill out all the fields and choose continue.
Step 4

Google will display their Terms of Service. If you agree with the terms check the yes box and click "create new account".
Step 5

After you successfully sign up Google will provide you their tracking code.
Step 6

Copy the entire tracking code and insert it just above the closing body tag < / body > on every page on your site.
Step 7

Within an hour or so will verify that the tracking code has been successfully install. It will display this on the main dashboard as soon as you log in to your account.
