So many women treat their blue eyes as if they were brown or green and it takes away from the eyes so much. Follow these tips to make you blue eyes as beautiful as they can be.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Throw out all your black eye liner and black mascara! Black is too harsh on blue eyes and it doesn't pick up on any of the color hues in a blue eye. Go for brown colors, things like : cafe mocha, latte, chocolate, anything in the brown family!
For shadows, never use blues or greens! The brown family is a good one to stay in, you want neutrals. Shadows in the colors of taupe, copper, browns, light orangy-pinks, and even oranges compliment the blue eye very well.

  2. Step 2

Put a neutral base of eye shadow in the lid, off whites work really well. Try one with a slight sparkle. Then take your main color, (I like light oranges the best) and lightly put it over the corners of the lid leaving a vertical line of white separating the two blocks of color. The line of the white shadow should be no larger than your pinky finger nail. Then take a brush (one that looks like a child's paint brush) and gently blend the edges of the white into the color. You should still have a line of white, but a much smaller one that blends in well. This will give the effect of a highlighted lid. Blend the line as much as you like, but make sure the outter corners are darker.

  3. Step 3

Try to get liners and mascaras that are made by the same brand because you can often find the same colors in each.
For the liner, I find pencils work best, and the are the easiest as long as you keep it sharp. When you apply it to your bottom lid, start in the middle and work your way out to each side. Go for a liner that has a smudger on the tip and slightly smudge the bottom line. When applying liner to the top, do one swift motion that creates a thin line from corner to corner. Wipe off the tip after each eye because the pencil will have some shadow on it.
Make sure the mascara is one that gives volume and length-Never coat it on too thick and always do this part last, the whole eye should be done first!

  4. Step 4

Don't got heavy on the rest of your face either, let your eyes pop with those natural colors. Use a soft peach blush, a little bit of bronzer on checks, nose and forehead, and wear a light pink or peach lipstick. Keep everything soft for this look.

Tips & Warnings
  • You should always use colors opposite to that of your eye on the color wheel. These colors contrast and compliment each other. Opposite of blue are things like orange, orange-yellow, and red-orange. It's safest to stick with orange families because it is directly across from blue on a wheel. Try golds, tan, and orange, copper, and even orangey-browns look great!
  • Use different make up brushes for each color and effect you are going for. Brushes work much better than fingertips.
