Awwwwww! Yes, my baby is asleep!
Awwwwww! Yes, my baby is asleep!

In this article on, how to get a baby to sleep, you will learn the steps to peacefully get your baby to sleep by theirselves. No fuss, no fighting!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blanket
  • Crib
  • Baby
  1. Step 1

Start by going on a evening walk or by having some play time in the floor. Another soothing and relaxing step is to give an evening bath. Follow that by a rub down with lotion and then move on to play time.

  2. Step 2

Watch for signs that your baby is getting fussy and wants to go to sleep. Some of these signs may be crying, moving around and moaning, or nothing may satisfy them anymore.

  3. Step 3

When you have noticed that your baby is ready to sleep, don't try to rock him/her, take them to their bed. Lay your baby in the crib, cover him/her up, and walk away. Your baby may cry a few times, just go in and if they take a passy, put it back in and walk back out of the room. Your baby should fall right asleep.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your baby gets fussy and wants to move around let them do that in the crib. They want to be free to move around and get theirselves to sleep.
  • I tried for so long to rock my daughter and she would fuss until eventually she would fall asleep. I tried my method above and she goes right to sleep now and it is not stressful at all.
  • Do not leave your child unattended in a bed where they could possibly fall.
  • Only try to this method if you have a secure place to lay them.
