The Line Rider character

Line Rider is an Internet-based game invented by Slovenian student Bostjan Cadez. Using a primitive physics engine, players draw lines on which a stickman character slides. The goal of the game is to try to create the most intricate tracks upon which the game's character slides, hence the name "line rider." Line Rider can be played online and is a cheap and enjoyable way to past the time.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the official Line Rider website (see Resources). Various third-party sites may offer versions of the game, but none provide the full scale of resources of the official site.

    • 2

Click "Play" in the right-hand screen on the site's front page.

    • 3

Select a drawing tool in the top row of the screen. Note the location of the red "S" symbol, which is where the game's character will appear and start riding your lines. Line Rider offers a line tool for drawing a straight line from one point to another. Creative users who want to draw curved or wavy lines should click the "Pencil" tool. Use your mouse cursor to draw the line on the screen.

    • 4

Check that all of your lines are connected. The game's character will fall and you will lose if there are gaps in your lines.

    • 5

Click the "Play" button, which looks like a triangle pointing to the right. The Line Rider character will appear and begin riding your lines. Click the square icon to stop the game and add more lines or fix your current tracks. Repeat until you are satisfied with the length and complexity of your tracks.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use curved, sharp lines to launch the character into the air, or try creating loops for a fun and dizzy ride.
