Things You'll Need:
- 1 pair of jeans( Toddler size works great).
- 1/4 yards material for lining
- scissor
- thread
- pins
- Lace (optional)

Step 1
Lay denim flat on table or cutting board. Make mark 1" below the zipper. Draw straight line across the leg and cut on the line.

With the leg of the denim make a 41/2" across for the width of your strap. Then draw lines down the length of the led. (if you desire a longer strap sew both side of the leg together).

Measure the denim from top to bottom, minus 1/2". Then measure across the hips the jeans to the width, adding 5/8" on each side. (This will tell how much lining you will need, but ling is optional).

Step 4
With the fabric of your choice, lay denim on to the fabric and pin. Trace along the outer border. Before cutting make 5/8" expansion on both sides.

Now you are ready to began sewing. Take your denim turning it inside out sew the leg opening close. To make a square bottom, with the denim till inside out bring the side of the denim left side to right (making an angle). Pin 2" from the corner and sew, cutting off the corner close to the seam line. About 1/4". Repeat on the other side.

Step 6
The denim fabric you for the strap fold it the center and pin all the down. On the other side you need to fold 1/4", the fold it to cover the raw edge of the side you have pinned. Sew it closing the strap, turn and sew on the opposite side.

Step 7
Pin the strap to the insides of the denim. Sew across several times to secure.

Step 8
Set aside the purse. It's time to work with the lining. Sew the sides and bottom, Repeat the same steps you did for squaring off the bottom the denim purse. Fold 5/8" from the top. pin and Put the lining inside the purse wrong side to wrong side. Making sure of the fit, then pin and sew.

Step 9
You're almost finished. Sew your lace loosely across the top. Pull the string to make the gathers. After making the gathers check sure it fits around the purse before sew the side. Pin 1 1/2" from the bottom and sew.
