How to Voice Chat on AOL
Using voice chat on AOL (AIM) has never been easier. Now you can set up a talk session with one of your friends from your messenger list, so you do not have to spend your time typing. If you have an AIM account and the software installed on your computer, you can begin talking with friends right away as long as they are online. You can follow these steps to start and end your voice chat.

Open your AIM messenger window to choose a friend who is online whom you wish to talk to with voice chat. Double click the person's name to open a chat window.

Make sure that your microphone and speakers are on and ready to talk and listen. Turn off any background noise that will interfere with the conversation.

Click the "Talk" button in the bottom left hand corner of the chat window. You will hear the phone start ringing. When your friend answers, you can begin talking back and forth, as you would on a telephone. You will see a timer on the screen that shows you how long the conversation is running.

End the conversation at anytime by clicking on "End Call."
