The first thing you see when you turn on your computer is the image of your desktop wallpaper. This image can be the logo of your computer manufacturer or a generic image, such as a landscape. You can easily change this picture through the Windows Control Panel. However, to change the wallpaper every hour, you need a program such as Wallpaper Changer.

Instructions

      Gather the images you want for your wallpaper and put them in a folder such as My Pictures.

      Download, install and run the free Wallpaper Changer. (The link is under Resources.) The program window appears.

      Click the "Open/Add" button to display the "Open" dialog. Navigate to the folder holding your images and open it.

      Select the image you want to use by clicking on it. To select more than one image, use shift-click or control-click. Then click the "Open" button to close the dialog and add the file names to the Wallpaper Changer list box.

      Click the "Option" button to display the tab dialog and click the Wallpaper tab.

      Choose the "After" option under Change Desktop Wallpaper. Specify an interval of 1 hour.

      Choose other options as needed by clicking on the tabs. Then click "OK" to save your options and close the tab dialog.

      Click the "Start" button on the program window. The current wallpaper changes to one from the list.

      Click the "Hide" button to reduce the program to an icon on your task bar. The program now changes the wallpaper every hour.

Tips & Warnings

  • Because Wallpaper Changer automatically resizes images based on your options, there is no need to resize any graphics you plan to use as wallpaper. However, for the best resolution, try to use images with dimensions close to your display size.
