Are you wanting to replace your factory radio with a new radio? Here are the steps to get the radio you want in your vehicle.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • wiring kit
  • stereo surround
  • ratchet and sockets
  • wire stripper
  1. Step 1

Remove the plastic around your radio. Usually you can pull around the edges of the radio to get it loose. Most are attached with metal clips.

  2. Step 2

Remove the bolts holding the factory radio in place and pull out the radio. Unclip the wiring harness from the factory radio from the wiring harness from the car. Now the new radio is ready to be installed.

Connect the wiring harness specifically for your car to the new radio. The new radio will have wires coming out. Connect the color-coded wires with the color-coded wires on the new wiring harness.

  4. Step 4

Attach the housing to the new radio it needed. The housing and wiring harness will say on the package the year, make, and model so you can get the right stuff.

  5. Step 5

Slide the new radio in your car and connect the aftermarket wiring harness to the wiring harness of your car. Bolt the new radio in. Snap the plastic dash back into place and you're done.
