Tetris is a 1980s video game. The object of Tetris is to place the pieces in the correct location. Once you receive four straight lines without a hole or gap, you gain a Tetris. Obtaining a Tetris allows your score to skyrocket. As you move through levels, the pieces fall faster. The objective is to beat your personal best score or beat that of other players. Java Tetris games are available online, such as Triplets and Us or Funmin.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

    Triplets and Us

  1. Step 1

Log in to Triplets and Us (see Resources) website. Wait while the game loads, approximately one or two minutes. You must have the Java Platform (see Resources) installed.

  2. Step 2

Click on the Java applet game board. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the pieces. Press "Left" and "Right" to move those directions. Push "Down" to drop the piece and "Up" to rotate. Click on the game board to "Pause."

  3. Step 3

Continue playing until you reach the top of the screen. As the score rises, the pieces move faster. Play again to try to beat your previous score.

  4. Funmin

  5. Step 1

Go to the Funmin (see Resources) Java games website. Click the "Play Now" link under the "Simple Tetris" title.

  6. Step 2

Select a starting level, one through five. You have a time limit to obtain the highest points possible. Click "Start."

  7. Step 3

Press the arrow keys to move the Tetris pieces. Pressing "Down" will drop the piece and "Up" will rotate. Pushing "Left" and "Right" will position the piece.

  8. Step 4

Submit your score. Once the game is finished, enter your name and country. Then click on the "Submit Score" button.
