Your veterinarian can determine conclusively if your cat is pregnant. However, you can recognize signs that your cat is pregnant even before you confirm it with a veterinarian. Although the precise way each cat behaves and the particular physical changes each cat undergoes when pregnant varies, there are common indicators. You can use these indicators to help decide whether you think your cat is pregnant.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check the cat's nipples. The cat's nipples become pink about three weeks into her pregnancy.

  2. Step 2

Check the cat's behavior. Pregnant cats may become quieter than usual and be more affectionate. Pregnant cats also may sleep more than usual.

  3. Step 3

Check the cat's heat cycles. A cat's heat cycles stop when the cat becomes pregnant.

  4. Step 4

Observe the cat's travel patterns. A pregnant cat may stay close to home more often than she did before she was pregnant.

  5. Step 5

Check the cat's weight. The cat's weight gain will become most noticeable during the fifth week of pregnancy.
