How to Delete Specific Websites From a Browser's History

Most web browsers keep an automatic log of your browsing history to automatically fill in the address bar when you begin typing and for security reasons. If you do not want any other users to know which websites you viewed, however, you can manually delete specific websites from your browser's history.

      Open the Internet Explorer browser by locating it in your "Start" menu or double-clicking on the blue "e" icon on your desktop or task bar.

      Press the "Ctrl" and "H" keys simultaneously to bring up your browser's history over intervals such as one day ago, one week ago and one month ago. You can expand each date by clicking on the calendar icon to the right of the text.

      Delete specific websites by right-clicking on the website name and selecting "Delete" from the drop-down menu. Click "Yes" in the pop-up menu to confirm the deletion.

      Click on the "History" tab at the top of the window pane and select "Search History" to search through your entire browsing history for a specific website. Internet Explorer will search for the website name and bring up any links in your browsing history. Delete these links in the same manner.

      Open your Mozilla Firefox browser and click "History" at the top of the window. Select "Show All History" from the drop-down menu. You can also use a shortcut by holding the "Shift," "Ctrl" and "H" keys simultaneously.

      Scroll through your history to find the websites you want to delete. By default, websites are listed in reverse chronological order. To arrange the websites alphabetically or by how often they are visited, choose the corresponding option from the "Sort" selection under "Views." You can also search for websites by using the "Search History" toolbar at the top of the window.

      Delete specific websites by right-clicking on the website and selecting the "Delete" option from the drop-down menu. Repeat as necessary to delete all unwanted browsing history.
