How To Make TomTom POI

A TomTom GPS leads you to a destination after you enter the location address. If you often go to a particular place, you can save entry time by defining it as a POI (Point of Interest) under a related category. You can then choose the POI as a destination without having to type its address. These procedures apply specifically to the TomTom ONE but can be used for other TomTom units.

Instructions

1. 

   Turn on the device to display the 3D map screen. Tap in the middle of the screen to display the Main Menu.

2. 

   Tap "Change Preferences" to show the "Preferences" screen. Scroll through the pages until you find "Manage POI."

3. 

   Tap "Manage POI" to display the "Manage POIs" screen. Then tap "Add POI" to show the "POI Category" screen.

4. 

   Scroll through the categories until you find the one containing the POI you want to change. You can speed up the search by tapping the "Find" button and entering a category name.

5. 

   Tap the name of the category for which you want to add the POI. This example uses "Relatives." The "Add as POI" screen appears.

6. Choose how to add the POI by tapping on an icon. You can use a pre-existing POI, current location, or latitude and longitude, among others. For this example, tap on "Address" and then "Street and House Number."

7. Enter a city, street and house number. Tap "OK" to save each change.

8. 

   Enter a name and optional phone number of the POI and tap "OK" to save the changes. This example uses "Mom's House." The TomTom tells you that the new POI is added.

9. Tap the "Done" buttons to return to the 3D map screen. Ensure that the POI is added correctly by navigating to it from this screen.

Tips & Warnings

• If none of the categories is correct for the POI you want to add, you can define a new category by tapping "Add POI Category" from the "Manage POIs" screen.
