      Fill the washing machine with hot water.

      Rub the orange cleaner into the diesel fuel stain.

      Turn on the washer cycle and add a liberal amount of the orange cleaner, allowing it to develop lots of suds. Use as much as 10 ounces of cleaner.

      Turn off the wash cycle and add the item to the load. Allow it to soak in the hot water for at least an hour.

      Add laundry detergent to the load and allow the washing machine to run through its normal cycle. For particularly tough stains, repeat the whole process. The stain and smell will be gone.

Tips & Warnings

  • To clean a washing machine that has been contaminated with fuel, add a couple of dishwasher tablets to the washer and then run the machine, without laundry, on the hot water cycle.
