    How to Buy Bicycle Tires

  1. Step 1

Search online retailers for tire prices, and check prices at local bicycle stores.

  2. Step 2

For road riding, tires have a smooth tread for low rolling resistance. Tires for off-road cycling have a deep, aggressive tread. When you buy, match the size of the new tires to the old ones.

  3. Step 3

An advantage to buying at a store is that the people there may be able to help you mount the new tire. But if you're experienced at changing bike tires yourself, prices at online retailers are usually lower.
