Some Vitamins are essential in helping to prevent Osteoporosis, as well as can be used to help treat Osteoporosis and slow its progress. Below are vitamins that are essential for Osteoporosis.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take 500 to 600 mg of Calcium, twice per day. Calcium is the most important vitamin since it's the main mineral that composes bone.

  2. Step 2

Take 250 to 300 mg of Magnesium, twice per day. Magnesium is required for proper calcium metabolism. Take each dosage along with your calcium dosages.

  3. Step 3

Take between 2 and 10 mg of Vitamin K if you have Osteoporosis. To help prevent Osteoporosis take 500 mcg per day. Vitamin K deficiency is common in patients that suffer from Osteoporosis. Vitamin K is needed to form the protein osteocalcin which attracts calcium into the bone matrix.

  4. Step 4

Take between 800 and 1,200 IU of Vitamin D if you currently suffer from Osteoporosis. If you're trying to prevent Osteoporosis, take 400 IU each day. Vitamin D improves intestinal calcium absorption and also reduces the urinary excretion of calcium.
