Things You'll Need:
- Wheat spaghetti
- Turkey meatballs
- Spaghetti sauce
- 2 large cooking pots
- Colander (strainer)
- Large cooking spoons
- Water
- Parmesan Cheese
- Cooking Spray or Oil
- Salt
-
Step 1
Go to the store and purchase a box of wheat spaghetti, a bag of frozen turkey meatballs and a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce.
-
Step 2
Get a large cooking pot and add about 1/4 cup of water and turn the burner on low. The water will help to steam the meatballs without burning them. Add enough meatballs for everyone to get at least 4-5 each. Now if you have large college age sons at home like I do, make sure to add around 7-10 meatballs each. Cook them for about 10 minutes.
-
Step 3
Next, add enough sauce to cover the tops of the meatballs. Sauce has a tendency to splatter, so make sure to cover the meatballs and sauce with a lid while it cooks for another 15-20 minutes on medium low.
-
Step 4
Get another large cooking pot and fill it with about 4-5 cups of water (for a normal 4 person serving). Add a tablespoon of oil or cooking spray, and a 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the water. Turn the burner on medium and let it boil.
-
Step 5
Once the water starts to boil, take a handful of the wheat spaghetti, break it half and add it to the water. Let the pasta cook for about 10 minutes.
-
Step 6
When the pasta absorbs some of the water, take a strand of spaghetti and throw it onto a wall. If the pasta sticks to the wall, it is cooked.
-
Step 7
Place a colander into the sink and pour the cooked pasta in while the water drains from it. By this time the meatballs and sauce should be cooked. Turn off the burners.
-
Step 8
Get a plate and scoop out a serving of spaghetti onto the plate. With a large cooking spoon or soup ladle, pour enough sauce and meatballs on top of the spaghetti. If you like Parmesan cheese, sprinkle some onto the spaghetti and meatballs and there you have it. All you need is a fork and a tasty beverage. Buon Appetito.
