Things You'll Need:
- Cardstock
- Ribbon
- Glue Stick
- Scissors
-
Step 1
Locate the photos that you want to display on your matte. Trim them proportionally to the size that you want. If your photo is 4 x 6 (which they normally are), you can either keep it that size, or in order to display more photos on a page (12 x 12), you might want to trim your photo down to a 3 x 5. Therefore, let's work with a 3 x 5 for now. Photo to the left shows two 12 x 12 pages with mattes that will hold 3 x 5 photos.
-
Step 2
Cut your cardstock at a size of 4 x 6, then cut another at a size of 3 1/2 x 5 1/2. This will give you a double matte by placing one on top of the other.
-
Step 3
Now that you have your 2 pieces of cardstock cut at 4 x 6 and 3 1/2 x 5 1/2, then cut a piece of ribbon at a length of approximately 4 inches. You will then insert your ribbon over the smaller of the two pieces of cardstock (the 3 1/2 x 5 1/2).
-
Step 4
Glue the ribbon to the back of the 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 cardstock. Then glue that piece on top of the 4 x 6 cardstock. Center the pieces on top of one another, and then attach the matte to your page.
