Making Nestle Chocolate Covered Pretzels is a fun and inexpensive way to spend an afternoon with your kids. They're delicious too!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • (1-2)10oz bags of pretzel rods
  • (1)12oz bag of Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • (1)12oz bag of Nestle white chocolate chips
  • fine tipped plastic bottle
  • chopped nuts
  • flaked coconut
  • multicolored cupcake sprinkles
  • wax paper
  • saran wrap
  1. Step 1

Lay out your wax paper on the countertop.

  2. Step 2

In a micrwavable bowl, melt semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave at 50% power for 40 seconds. Take out and stir. Repeat step until melted.

  3. Step 3

Dip your pretzel rods fully into the chocolate filled bowl then line them up on wax paper. TIP: I like to line wooden spoons on the wax paper so the undipped pretzel end has something to rest on. (Pretzels will look nicer if chocolate does not dry flat on back side).

  4. Step 4

In a micrwavable bowl, melt white chocolate in the microwave at 50% power for 40 seconds. Take out and stir. Repeat step until melted.

  5. Step 5

Pour melted white chocolate into your fine tipped plastic bottle and start drizzling chocolate back and forth over your chocolate covered pretzels. Turn all pretzels to their backside and drizzle chocolate over that side as well.

  6. Step 6

Sprinkle any extras over your pretzels. Example... chopped nuts, flaked coconut, multi-colored sprinkles. You have to pick each pretzel up individually to ensure the back of the pretzels get sprinkled with your favorite topping. The kids love helping with this step!

  7. Step 7

Let pretzel's dry at least 2 hours. Wrap each pretzel in saran wrap for freshness and then store in a decorative cup on the countertop.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can reverse this recipe to make white chocolate covered pretzels drizzled with the semi-sweet.
  • Makes for a great Father's Day gift and dad will love it!
  • Overheating chocolate will cause it to burn.
