How to Write a Poem

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pencil paper creative heart and mind
  1. Step 1

First expand on the reasoning to why you want to write a poem. Is it for a family member or loved one? For School? Either way you have to have your purpose pinpointed.

  2. Step 2

Second: If it is for a family member or loved one begin by writing everything you think of when you hear that person's name or how they make you feel, what's great about them.
Once you have a list of things why you love them, etc...Draw from that. Poems do not have to rhyme.....For example: The love you show opens my heart, I hate when we spend time apart..I know you see the best in everything, When you look at me my heart sings..... That poem did rhyme but rhyming is not necessary

  3. Step 3

If you are writing for a class or other reasons-Dwell on what you know, like, or surrounds.
the Birds, the trees, nature all around
Places, things, or just well being.
Brainstorm ideas and focus on what you know and just start writing. Your creative juices will flow and there will be no stopping you!!!
