A dog with a full belly is a happy dog!

This recipe is completely safe for your dog to eat as long as the instructions are followed. Dog spaghetti is a treat only, meant to treat your dog occasionally as part of a well balanced diet. My dogs all gather around the stove when they smell this cooking, they LOVE it!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 pound of raw lean hamburger or ground turkey
  • 2 ounces of dry spaghetti pasta (or any pasta will do)
  • 1 small can of no-salt added tomato sauce
  1. Step 1

Place lean meat in skillet and brown. There is no need to drain the grease, that just makes it tastier to the lucky dog that will be eating it later! Break the meat up really small. A little water added to the pan right after the meat will aid with this.

  2. Step 2

While the meat is browing, cook the pasta according to package directions in a separate pan and drain after cooking. Add tomato sauce to the meat as it is browning. Let the meat and tomato sauce cook for a few minutes to let some of the liquid cook out.

  3. Step 3

Remove meat sauce from the heat, add pasta to the skillet and toss together. Let cool completely before serving your pooch. Remember to put leftovers in the fridge for later. To reheat, microwave just up to room temperature.

Tips & Warnings
  • Adding a can of rinsed kidney beans will make this into Chili-Mac for your dog. Yummy!
  • Portion size depends on your pup. The maximum serving should be no more than 1/2 cup for a large dog. Remember that this is a treat only.
  • This may seem bland for humans, but dogs prefer a bland diet.
  • Do not add salt, mushrooms or onions, as all of these things are bad for dogs.
  • This recipe is a treat only, not to be used in place of a regular, well balanced diet.
