Looking for a new way to fix hamburger...? Well here is something new for you to try. Its called hamburger pie, and it is an old family favorite, so why not give it a try, see if you like it too.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 lbs Hamburger
  • 2 cups Cooked Rice
  • 1 med. Onion
  • 1 med. Bell pepper
  • 3 cans Tomato Sauc
  • 2 cups grated Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 pkg. Lipton Onion Soup mix
  • 1/4 tsp. Garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cracker Crumbs
  1. Step 1

Mix together hamburger, onion soup mix, cracker crumbs, and eggs like you would for meat loaf.

  2. Step 2

Press hamburger mixture into a large glass pie dish or pyrex pan. This makes the pie crust.

  3. Step 3

For the filling, mix together in a separate bowl: cooked rice, 2 cans of tomato sauce, finely chopped onion and bell pepper, About a half teaspoon of garlic, and salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Step 4

Now spoon the filling in your pie crust, and use the last can of tomato sauce to spread over your pie. You may not need the whole can, just make sure you spread your tomato sauce generously over the whole pie.

  5. Step 5

Now you're ready to cook it. Just bake in the oven for about 45 minutes to an hour at 375.

  6. Step 6

Top with shredded cheese, and put back in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese melts.

  7. Step 7

Then remove from oven, and let stand for about ten to fifteen minutes more to let the top firm up a bit, and your ready to serve. Well, thats it! Hope you enjoy it.
