Contrary to myth, frozen vegetables can be just as healthy, if not healthier, than fresh vegetables. As they are frozen as soon as they are picked, they preserve the essential nutrients, unlike "fresh" vegetables that often take days to get your plate, thus losing much of their nutrition. A stir-fry is a relatively quick and easy way to cook frozen vegetables for a healthy snack or as part of a meal. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1 cup frozen vegetables
  • 2 tsp. vegetable oil or olive oil
  • Seasoning and stir-fry sauce (optional)

Instructions

      Heat the oil in a frying pan or wok over a medium-high heat. Olive oil is healthiest.

      Add frozen vegetables when the oil is hot. Add seasoning, such as salt, pepper and spices, if you wish.

      Cook over a medium-high heat, turning regularly, until the vegetables are soft and brightly colored. This usually takes five to 10 minutes, but you can cook longer if you prefer your vegetables more tender.

      Add a stir-fry sauce, if desired, and serve when everything is piping hot.
