Locate the roaches' nests in your home. Even though roaches may crawl all over the house they generally reside in certain spots. These spots offer them and their eggs food and shelter when they are not going around.
Usually, the kitchens and bathrooms are common places for roaches to hide. However, to be absolutely sure place some roach traps around the house to find out where they nest and reproduce.

Perform a thorough cleaning of the kitchen and bathrooms. These are the most likely places roaches are going to live. These rooms provide roaches with basic necessities, like food and water which they need to stay alive.

Clean under the sinks, the stove, the dish washer, washing machine and refrigerator. Clean and disinfect your cabinets periodically. Don't leave food or garbage uncovered and wash your dishes daily before going to bed.
If you have small children disinfect their toys; these are often dirty with food and juices. Clean the pet's food plates and make sure their food is not spread in the house.

Close up water leakages in the house to get rid of roaches. Check toilets and sinks to make sure water does not sit on the grounds and surfaces. Roaches and other bugs are drawn to these moist spaces. Dry up all water spots and fix any water fixture that is not working properly.

Use boric acid to get rid of roaches in the home. Place boric acid powder strategically under the kitchen appliances and under bathrooms sinks. You can also place boric acid on a small dish and place it inside cabinets.
As an alternative to boric acid, use a mix of baking soda with sugar in equal amounts. Place the mix in a dish or bowl and place it in the areas where the roaches are nesting to get rid of them.
