Killing dandelions can be quite easy, inexpensive and chemical free. Just using household vinegar and a little sun will do the trick.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Get out your vinegar: white, apple cider or distilled vinegar, they all work. Just use whatever you have on hand. Some articles tell you that your vinegar needs to have more than 5% acidity, but I have found even at 5% acidity it works.

  2. Step 2

If you have a spray bottle pour your vinegar into the spray bottle. This makes it easier to only get the weed, but you can do this without the spray bottle.

  3. Step 3

Point at the weed and spray with vinegar. Try to get the root and the leaves, but watch out for the grass if that's where you're spraying, the vinegar will kill everything.

  4. Step 4

Let the sun shine. After a few hours or the next day, depending on the amount of sun, your dandelion will be dead.

Tips & Warnings
  • This method works without the sun, but it works much better on a nice sunny day.
  • In my experience Apple Cider Vinegar works faster, but all varieties seem to work great!
  • Using a spray bottle will help you to keep the vinegar on the dandelions and not on anything you want to live.
  • Be careful where you spray. Anything you get with the vinegar will die, so watch out for your grass.
