Can't eat healthy and have your cake and eat it too? Well have brownies. Low-fat, delicious brownies that is. A simple alteration in the typical brownie mix directions can allow you to have a more healthy treat when dieting.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 packages of brownie mix (any brand)
  • 1 can of diet soda (any brand)
  • 13 X 9 baking pan
  • nonfat cooking spray
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 425.

  2. Step 2

Pour the two packages of brownie mix into large mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

Add the can of diet soda.

  4. Step 4

Using a rubber baking spatula of spoon mix batter until all of the mix is dissolved. Mix well to remove all large lumps in the batter. However, the batter will not be completely smooth. The texture will resemble typical brownie batter.

  5. Step 5

Spray the 13 X 9 baking dish with the non fat cooking spray.

  6. Step 6

Pour brownie batter into the pan.

  7. Step 7

Let the batter set in pan for 5 minutes.

  8. Step 8

Bake in oven for 30-35 Minutes if using a glass pan. If pan is metal you may have to bake 35-40 minutes.

  9. Step 9

Insert toothpick or fork in the center of the brownie to test if completely cooked. Additional baking time may be needed if the center is still liquid filled.

  10. Step 10

When baking is complete remove from oven and let the pan of brownies completely cool.

  11. Step 11

Cut brownies into squares and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • For even lower fat brownies you can use the Reduced-Fat brownie mix, but it is not necessary. The fat content in brownies can be roughly determined by reading the amount of fat in mixture on the box of mix since there is no fat in the diet soda. You may use one package of brownie mix and half a can of diet soda if you would like to make a smaller batch. If that is the case you can use a 8X8 pan or use the 13 X 9 and the brownies will be much thinner.

on 8/20/2009 YOU WOULD REPLACE THE LISTED INGREDIENTS ON PKG. SUCH AS OIL ETC., WITH THE DIET SODA, MAKING THE ONLY TWO INGREDIENTS THE SODA AND THE BROWNIE MIX.
