Stop bras from sliding

You finally find the perfect bra and get it home to try it on for size. It fits perfectly, but it keeps sliding off your shoulders. I have the perfect remedy to stop the bra from sliding.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
Clean the bra and dry thoroughly in the washing machine if it is not new.

Clean the bra and dry thoroughly in the washing machine if it is not new.

The bra needs to be clean. If is an older bra that is sliding, wash it and dry it thoroughly first before proceeding.

  2. Step 2
Use the rubber like shelf liners available in your local store.

Use the rubber like shelf liners available in your local store.

Purchase the rubber like shelf liners. These come in assorted colors available at your favorite grocery, department or dry goods store. The dollar store has them for $1. You also might find the right amount at a yard sale that will do just fine.

  3. Step 3
Measure the length and width of the bra strap before you cut the shelf liner

Measure the length and width of the bra strap before you cut the shelf liner

Cut a strip long enough to cover the top of the shoulder of the bra strap. I suggest about 6 inches so you will have 3 inches on the front and 3 inches on the back of the strap. Measure the strap's width so you have the correct size both in length and width.

  4. Step 4
Sew the shelf liner to the inside of the bra strap to secure it safely.

Sew the shelf liner to the inside of the bra strap to secure it safely.

Sew this shelf liner piece on the inside of the strap. The area that will be next to your skin. Your straps will no longer slide and annoy you.

  5. Step 5
A strapless bra will not slide with shelf liner on the sides or under the cups.

A strapless bra will not slide with shelf liner on the sides or under the cups.

If you have a strap less bra that slides. Do the same steps of measuring, but measure under the cups, or on the sides of the bra. This is a choice of yours as to the placement of the shelf liner.

  6. Step 6
A bra with the shelf liner on it should be hand washed and never machine dried.

A bra with the shelf liner on it should be hand washed and never machine dried.

Do not throw the bra in the dryer. The shelf liner is not dryer safe. You will ruin your bra. You hand wash and dry these delicate garments most often times, so be careful to never place them in the dryer with the shelf liner in place. The bra after you sew the shelf liner on it, should not be machine washed either.Laundering these in your household machines will ruin your bra.
