This article will take you through the steps required to marry your significant other in Iowa.

  • Your Partner
  • One Witness (Must be 18+)
  • Access to the Internet
  • Blue/Black Ink Pen
  • Postage
  • $35.00
  1. Step 1

    Go to the following website to have the application for your marriage license mailed to you. If you mail in an application that has been printed from the internet, it WILL NOT be accepted.

  2. Step 2

    Once you have received the application, take it to a notary. Be sure that you, your partner and you witness are all there. All parties involved should have picture identification with them.

  3. Step 3

    In the presence of the notary you and your partner will fill out and sign the application. Your witness will then fill out and sign their section on the application. The notary will fill out their section and put the official stamp on it.

  4. Step 4

    You will then mail your application and $35.00 application fee to the envelope provided with your application.

  5. Step 5

    Now you can begin planning your trip to Iowa!
