Step 1

1) have an open mind. Look at your situation from an "outside the box" approach and guide your self through your pain. -

2) Stretch. Did you know the average individual who stretches 3x a week lives an average of 5 years longer? Stretching reminds you that your body is important--u need to keep it healthy. -

3) Heat. Heat loosens up your muscles and allows the acidic build up in your muscle to release--allowing for less pain in the muscles. Heating should be done no more than 4x a week -

4) Ice. Ice is actually more important than heat. Ice keeps down the swelling of muscles while providing you reduced pain due to the numbing. You should ice after physical activities--it will thus tighten the muscles and allow you to heal. -

5) massage. Massage helps relax the muscle and promotes circulation through the body. -

6) Lastly--learn what causes your body to ache. If you know when your back, leg, etc.. flares up--then you can be prepared for the ice and heat after the activity. Right down when the injury occurs: time, place, most painful point, etc..
