Purchase and use an antiperspirant rather than a deodorant. Deodorants contain alcohol and fragrance and are used to mask odor, while antiperspirants contain aluminum-based compounds that block the pores that cause excess sweating. Your drugstore sells antiperspirants that are targeted to prevent excessive perspiration.
Try a different antiperspirant if one doesn't work for you. Even the clinical-strength brands can vary when it comes to the level of protection they offer.

See your doctor if underarm sweat interferes with your business or social life. There m bighte a medical reason for it, such as hyperhidrosis, which can cause frequent and excessive sweating under the arms and on the palms and feet. Your doctor might prescribe a stronger antiperspirant, such as Drysol or Xerac, or an oral drug such as glycopyrrolate, which inhibits generalized sweating. Some doctors use a process called iontophoresis, in which a low electric charge is delivered to certain areas of the body.

Tips & Warnings
If the sweat causes stains, treat the area as soon as possible. Simply running the armpit area under cold water after you take off the garment can prevent sweat stains from setting.
Clinical-strength antiperspirant is quite effective but can sting when applied to a freshly shaven armpit. You might want to keep a gentler antiperspirant on hand to use on shaving days.
