Cleaning your hat with out ruining the bill or shrinking it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your dirty hats.
  • Clothes detergent.
  • Kitchen sink.
  • Warm water.
  • Drying rack.
  1. Step 1

First you want to plug your kitchen sink so the water will not drain out. Add the detergent (about a half a cup). You can use liquid detergent or powdered detergent. You will then want to add the warm water from the sink. Make sure some suds form. Also make sure you have enough water to submerge the hat in the water in its natural form. (The shape it would be if you were wearing it).

  2. Step 2

After your sink is full of the soapy water, submerge your hat in the sink so it absorbs the warm soapy water. After that start to gently massage the hat with your fingers to loosen the dirt and grim. Do not use any brushes as this may cause the threads to come loose. Gently swirl the hat in the water in a circle formation.

  3. Step 3

Next you want to rinse your hat in warm running water over the empty sink. Again use your fingers to massage the hat to get the soap off. Continue to do this until you feel that all the soap has been washed off. After the soap is off put the hat on the drying rack to dry. Make sure the hat is in it original form. (Like it would be if you were wearing it). If it is not it will dry with wrinkles in the hat.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful NOT to use hot water. Use warm water. Something comfortable to keep your hands in.
  • Make sure detergent does not contain bleach.
  • Always let air dry.
